Grading Houston's Halloween Uniforms

There seems to be new uniforms out on the Internet every day. I honestly cannot keep up with it. We could do grades each day and with Dunked On You making its glorious return tomorrow (Obviously, it returns with the NBA season, duh.), I have no idea how we will keep up with it. Anyways, Houston's coach Tony Levine decides to play a prank on his team. He is hyping it up and his players are starting to get excited then you hear this audible 'YAAAAHHHHH.... Oh.'  Then comes out the other players and it looks pretty awesome. I always like the black on black but I do not know about the red shining helmet, cannot fully get on-board with it.  GRADE: B (H/T SB Nation)

Uncle Drew Does It Again

It is hard to argue against Pepsi MAX's 'Uncle Drew' campaign being the best athlete endorsement right now. Talk about hitting your spots if you are Kyrie Irving as he does not have many major endorsements yet.  It trended on Twitter this afternoon when it was released on YouTube in time for the NBA season. It has over a half million views already on YouTube (I am writing this at 10:30 pm Monday for whatever it is worth).  This is just as good as the other ones featuring Kyrie of course, 'Lights' played by Nate Robinson who has some mean moves and 'Betty' played by Maya Moore.

Now Available at Sears: Packers Sex Toys!

Late night Twitter is an interesting place. It is definitely different than what we see during the day on the social media powerhouse. Things tend to get weird.  Jason Wilde of ESPN Milwaukee received a tweet from a follower alerting him about Sears department store website involving Green Bay. He advised people to proceed with caution when searching 'Packer clothing' on the website.  When you look at the first row, everything seems pretty normal. It is just a bro with an overpriced t-shirt which is standard at a department store. 

You probably cannot see it due to my decent work in Paint, but the red X for is for a company called Pleasure Works. This seems to be off plus they have eight things for women in here and the first four shirts look like men's apparel. As you keep scrolling, well things take an unexpected turn. It may be NSFW pending on your employer.  

For whatever reason, an HTML error leads to the Packers clothing shop at Sears featuring dildos in a variety of colors for all NFL fans alike. I laughed out loud for a good five minutes when I scrolled to see this because I am a child. I worked for a little bit in the department store game and you would be surprised how easy this can happen. Here is the full screen look of the sex toy snafu by Sears and then an excellent tweet to close this post out.

First Taste: Monster - Eminem (feat. Rihanna)

Oh no. Oh no, no no. It is looking more apparent that Eminem's album is one you check out on Spotify and pick and choose what songs you like because this will not be a great album by any means. This is clearly made for radio just like other songs on his album. I mean this is not even a resemblance of what Eminem has been for the last five years. The scary thing about this song is it sounds more like a Rihanna song than it does an Eminem song.  I am still going to check out his album because of who he is, but honestly, I have very little excitement about it. Nothing really has jumped off the page with the songs I have heard thus far.

Closing Time: Banger (MOSHPIT) (Music Video) - ScHoolboy Q

We give a good amount of love to ScHoolboy Q here on Sports News on Tap. Hell, we look out for most of the TDE crew. Q finally has a release date on his album and this should make most hip-hop fans happy. This is his video for 'Banger' and it completely fits the mood of the song. It is an angry song that you play in the gym ready to do the final set or on your run when you need some extra motivation. I like what we are seeing from Q and I think his album has some potential to be pretty good.

SnoTap College Football Try Week 9

After a couple weeks of doing some different stuff with college football, we are back with College Football Try basically talking about different things that happened during Saturday's slate of games. 

Oh, Missouri - The hype about the Tigers seemed to be real as we reached halftime in their game against South Carolina. Missouri had 17 point advantage at halftime against South Carolina and seemed like they were in complete control. Conner Shaw did his best 'Walt Frazier' impression and came into the game to lead the Cocks back with 17 unanswered to force overtime. Missouri tries to hold on, but Andrew Baggett, the kicker for Missouri, clanked a 24-yard field goal. It is a heartbreaker for the Tigers and a dent to their SEC East chances yet they are still in a good position to make it to Atlanta. The real question is how Missour responds from this on Saturday against Tennessee at home.

Oklahoma powers its way past Texas Tech - I came away truly impressed with Oklahoma. I changed course on Texas Tech this week and worried about Oklahoma's offense which proved to be wrong. The combination of Damien Williams, Ray Finch, Blake Bell and Brennan Clay rushed for over 250 yards and a major reason why Oklahoma was able to defeat the Red Raiders. This should not be a detrimental loss for Texas Tech though. They seem well on their way to be a perennial top 15 team. Davis Webb is a good true freshman quarterback. He will get much better under Kliff Kingsbury.

Oregon's defense gets simply no respect - Everyone can trip over themselves talking about Oregon's offense because they have dynamic players like Marcus Mariota and De'Anthony Thomas yet no one stops to talk about this defense. They held UCLA at bay for most of the game and UCLA took advantage of short fields with turnovers. Oregon has a very talented corner in Ifo Ekpre-Olomu as well other great players on this Oregon's defense. Ekpre-Olomu and the Ducks secondary held Brett Hundley to only 69 yards of passing. He is one of the best quarterbacks in the nation and Oregon is outchea doing that?!  They get no love.

THA DUKIES BABYYYYYYY - David Cutcliffe might be a wizard. He found his groove at Duke University making the Blue Devils bowl-eligible for the second consecutive year and having his team knock off Virginia Tech for the first time since 1981 and their first win against a top 25 opponent since 1994.  They did not complete a pass in the second half and still won the game which speaks to their great defense.  Bad Logan Thomas came to play in a major way as Duke picked him off four times. Looking ahead, Duke has a pretty interesting home game against Miami in two weeks that looks a lot better than the beginning of the year.

Ohio State proves once again, the B1G sucks - I hate to bang this drum again, but Ohio State beating Penn State by 49 points says so much more about how inferior the Big Ten is to the rest of the conferences in college football. We cannot get a full gauge on Ohio State until we see them against real opponents. The same can be said for Wisconsin, Michigan State and anyone else playing well in the Big Ten right now. I just cannot go to back for this conference until I start seeing more balance across the board.

Miami looks ahead, and still gets by Wake - This would have been very bad for Miami. They clearly had visions of Florida State in their mind as they head to Tallahassee this week.  The fact they have needed a last-second drive to beat Wake Forest at home and had to survive North Carolina the prior week, we could be looking at the biggest paper tiger not named Ohio State in the top ten.

Bo Pelini's seat is getting warmer - It is time to start wondering if Bo Pelini will have a job in December that begins with 'head coach' because let's be honest, he gets a top notch defensive coordinator job if he were fired with maybe Alabama if Kirby Smart leaves (Oh my god Saban and Pelini would be terrifying personality wise) or Texas. Pelini's bunch has road games against Michigan and Penn State plus a home game against Michigan State that might decide his fate. The whole voicemail and negative talk about Tommie Frazier does not help his case either.

SnoTap Packers Classroom: Green Bay at Minnesota

We give grades to the different aspects of the Packers game from Sunday or Monday.  Am I too critical sometimes? Yes.  Am I also too nice sometimes? Yes.   I do not have a teaching degree in case you were wondering. 

A-Game 

Aaron Rodgers - It is clear Aaron Rodgers wanted to go as a surgeon for Halloween. He completely dissected a weak Vikings secondary all game long. He only had five incompletions going for 285 yards with two touchdowns. We will talk about the play of Jordy Nelson in a minute here, but both passes Rodgers made for the touchdowns were things of beauty.  Last night was a display of why Rodgers is the best or second-best quarterback in the National Football League. He looks completely dialed in right now and that's bad news for the rest of the league.

Eddie Lacy and James Starks - Are people starting to realize the Packers having a pretty damn good running game or is it going to take another national televised game? Lacy and Starks rushed for a combined 151 yards with Lacy getting the brunt of the carries and yards with 29 and 94 yards including a touchdown. Starks returned to the lineup  with a strong 57 yards on only seven yards averaging eight yards a carry. This is a very dangerous team in the coming months as the temperature gets cooler because of this running game.

Jordy Nelson - If there is one bright spot in all of the Packers injuries, it could be Nelson finally getting all the attention he deserved for the last couple of years. Even though he is the Packers only option according to the media types, Nelson is still making plays out there with seven catches and 124 yards.  It is hard to imagine the price tag of Nelson now compared to what General Manager Ted Thompson got him a couple years ago. Nelson has done that and more. He is truly a joy to watch on the football field.

Micah Hyde - The Packers drafted a mix of defensive and offensive players this year and Hyde is playing the best out of the defensive rookies by far. Hyde made some plays on defense in the last couple of weeks and had his biggest play as a Packer with a 93-yard punt return for a touchdown. Hyde hit the seam and found daylight. If the Packers add a weapon not named Randall Cobb taking back kicks, it is just another element for teams to prepare for on Sunday or Monday.

B-Game 

Jarrett Boykin - Another good week for the young receiver. He did not do anything extraordinary, but Boykin still made some plays out there worth nothing.  Calling it a B game is probably fair even there was not anything truly special.  I did like him knowing where the first down was after a ridiculous pass across his body from Rodgers. Boykin will be heavily involved all year and probably in more of a slot role next week as I expect James Jones back next week.

David Bakhtiari - A really good game from Bakhtiari probably a A- game for him honestly. I also think he needs to be in consideration for Offensive Rookie of the Year if this continues for him. He is a fourth-round draft pick protecting the blind side of one of the best quarterbacks in the league and Bakhtiari is doing a damn good job of it.  Odds are it will probably not happen because offensive linemen get no respect in any level of football but he should get some votes if this continues for him.

Mike Daniels - Another big game from Daniels whose apparently a terror inside with his combination of smaller size and speed. He had three tackles with two of them being for a loss with a sack thrown in there. Daniels is a perfect rotation guy for the Packers defensive line and let's remember, this was one of the biggest reasons the Packers won the Super Bowl in 2010. Daniels will have to adjust in the coming weeks because a book will be started on Daniels and how to contain him as he keeps making plays.

C-Game 
Andrew Quarless - He did not really do much, but Quarless did not drop a pass. This is a good thing.  I would like to see more with Quarless and I think we will next week against Chicago with their struggling linebacker core right now. I also thought the tight ends including Quarless did a great job with their run blocking. 

D-Game 

Kick Return Problems - This week, Green Bay's kick coverage bit them in the ass. They struggled with Cleveland last week and nearly gave up a touchdown to Travis Benjamin. This week, they give up an opening 109 yard kickoff return from Cordarrelle Patterson who is going to be a real bitch for the Packers for the next 10 years. They need to be better moving forward especially with Devin Hester being a game-breaker next week.

Hapless fourth quarter defense - I always talk about 'when the foot is on the throat make sure you stomp on it and not let your foot off of it.'  Is it graphic? Yes. But do we get the point?  I bet you do. This team just sort of played complete vanilla in the fourth quarter allowing the Vikings to get 31 points versus 17 points. They really need to finish better when they have a big lead. I could understand not showing much but do not completely lay off the throat.  

F-Game 

Greg Jennings - Everyone took their shots at Greg Jennings. I guess I could as well. Jennings is a player who was made by his quarterback. Jennings and Rodgers had a clear riff because he was just another cog in the big machine. I felt it was telling Miami did not reach out to Jennings when looking for a receiver meaning there is some disconnect. Jennings dodging the media after the game is all you have to know about a person's credibility. That speaks louder than only one catch with nine yards

Tramon Williams' pass interference call - One of the most horseshit calls I have seen all year. Scott Green's guys did a fine job besides that crap call. The refs gift-wrapped a touchdown to this team.
