There are a couple things I want to get straight before we start this journey. There will be movies on here that will stun you because I have not seen them until 2013 or 2014. Comments like 'WHY HAVEN'T YOU SEEN THIS' aren't really needed or necessary. Trust me, there will be quite a lot of them that bother people.
Here's how it will go.. I will introduce the movie with its cast and genre then give it a grade of 1-5 stars in Netflix fashion basically telling you if a movie is worth your time or not describing some small details of the plot along with any random thoughts I had. Due to me being an easy judge at times, I will put IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes ratings to see if they agree with me or not on the movie allowing for better judgment if you decide to watch the film.
CAST: Robin Williams, Cuba Gooding Jr., Annabella Sciorra and Max von Sydow
GENRE: Sci-Fi/Drama

Charlie's rating: 4 out of 5 - I try hard not to look at the movie's synopsis in Netflix because I want to go into with no sort of knowledge of what I am watching. I did know this movie had something to do with 'dreams' given the movie title, and it had a science fiction twist to the movie. It was obviously a little different and way harder to watch that I actually expected at times. I would not recommend this movie to anyone who is going through a hardship. I cried multiple times and I could only imagine it would be worse if I were in a fragile state. The movie is good, but it is a gut punch of movie, something I did not see something when I hit play for the first time.
As for the cast and the movie, the special effects are unreal with great depictions of the perceived afterlife. This movie is another reminder that Cuba Gooding Jr. was a great actor in a supporting role. There are just some actors whom cannot be leading men, and Gooding Jr. is definitely one of them. I also do not get people who say 'I cannot take Robin Williams in a serious movie.' He is a great actor and I almost like him better in serious movies when he needs to show off a different side of him. One of the unexpected parts was how many different twists there were throughout the movie.
