You know the deal, I make college football picks and get them wrong usually. That's how it works here at Sports News on Tap industries. I probably could pour in a couple more paragraphs, but this is my seventh post of the day plus two more I had to edit, Charlie is ready to be done. Enjoy the weekend.
Get your beers and get your bros
2. Oregon at 16. Washington 3:00 pm FOX Sports 1 - Oh boy. It is expected to be a rainy, cool 55 degrees in this one with the Huskies wanting to put a bow on their new Husky Stadium. They should have beat Stanford last week on the road. Oregon looked great all year, but they have played absolutely no one. It is hard for me to think Washington can play with two elite programs in back-to-back weeks. It is just too tough on a team to play at that high level for consecutive weeks. I do think it will be close heading up to the fourth quarter, but Marcus Mariotta will show the nation why he is the second-best quarterback in college football. He comes up big late and pulls it out for Ducks. UO 33-24
17. Florida at 10. LSU 2:30 pm CBS - Most memorable thing from this rivalry is Brandon Spikes punting a football after returning an interception for six points #NeverForget (HAD NO IDEA IT WAS ON YOUTUBE. I WATCHED IT TWICE AND MORE TO COME THIS WEEKEND). No there have been other great moments too, but that one always will stand out like the miraculous fake field goal by LSU in The Swamp in 2010. LSU has a great offense, but their defense is nothing like its been for the last couple of years. It feels like Florida is rounding into form with Tyler Murphy and their defense has been great again this year. Gators win their second straight over the Tigers. UF 23-17
12. Oklahoma vs. Texas (Played in Dallas) 11 am ABC - Ah the Red River Rivalry. One of my favorites and I have no idea why. I guess it comes with tradition. It is one of those games everyone watches every year no matter what. I like Oklahoma in this one. Case McCoy going up against that Sooner secondary sounds about as painful for Longhorn fans as getting your testicles crushed in a vice. Blake Bell should have no problem navigating on the ground either; Texas struggled with the read option last week. I hear Florida is a nice area to retire, Mack. OKLA 41-21
Channel flip worthy
9. Texas A&M at Ole Miss 7:30 pm ESPN - Man, feel for Ole Miss. Everyone is hyping them up to beat Alabama and they get shutout. Then they come in sleepy against Auburn on the road and get their asses handed to them. Now they come home to Johnny Football. This should be an entertaining football game with loads of scoring. I feel like Mississippi will give the Aggies a game. It does feel like a 'Back against the wall' game meaning the Rebels might be playing at higher level than expected. I cannot go against Johnny Football. That's like refusing Halloween mini-candy bars when offered in a candy dish. TAMU 45-41
15. Baylor at Kansas State 2:30 pm FOX - Oh man, every bone in my body tells me Kansas State is going to win this football game. Bill Snyder knows how to win these games at The Little Apple. We have seen it time and again. But I need to keep living the Baylor dream until it dies even if I do not want it to die. I believe in Briles, Seastruck and Petty. BAYLOR 38-34
19. Northwestern at Wisconsin 2:30 ABC - Check the SnoTap Badger preview for thoughts on this game.
18. Michigan at Penn State 4:00 pm ESPN - These two squads have not met since 2010. A lot of has changed since then for both established college football programs. Michigan looked much better last week against Minnesota and Penn State suffered a 20-point loss to Indiana away from Happy Valley. This will resemble Michigan's game last week. It will be close at halftime, but Michigan puts it out of reach by the end of the third quarter with a big performance from Devin Gardner. MICH 30-14
Pittsburgh at 24. Virginia Tech 11:00 am ESPNU - This is a better game that I think any of think at this very moment. Virginia Tech's tough defense against Tom Savage, a player Paul Chryst has made into an NFL prospect. Pittsburgh can put up the points, but can they stop Logan Thomas? The answer to the question is no, no they cannot. VT 35-20
Upset special
25. Missouri at 7. Georgia 11 am ESPN - Missouri has been eating cupcakes for the whole Fall which probably means they are fat Tigers which is not good but I digress. Georgia has played everyone in the world but their skill positions are MASH units right now. Missouri is still playing over their heads at this point and they will come into Athens and win this football game. Too many injuries to too many good players on Georgia for Aaron Murray to overcome by himself. MIZZOU 23-20
A palate cleanser for your Netflix binge watch
14. South Carolina at Arkansas 11:21 am ESPN3 - I do not think Arkansas knows what defense looks like, and their offense was shutdown like the government against Florida. South Carolina's defense might not be at Florida's level, but they are still pretty good. I could see this being close for a half, but Mike Davis has a field day in the backfield. SCAR 34-16
5. Stanford at Utah 5:00 pm Pac-12 Network - This one might be worth keeping an eye on. Utah hung with UCLA last Thursday and they threw six interceptions. I am fairly confident the Utes will do the same with the Goofy Tree. This will be the type of game where everyone starts talking about in the fourth and then the Cardinal pulls away late. Stanford needs a better performance out of Kevin Hogan to win this one. STAN 28-17
California at 14. UCLA 9:30 pm ESPN2 - For the ones who go out and don't feel like socializing, this game is for you for a little bit. There should be some scoring in this one and probably most it will be from Brett Hundley and the Bruins. UCLA 52-20
Iowa State at 20. Texas Tech 11 am FOX Sports 1 - Paul Rhodes Red Raider Redemption.... AM I RITE GUYS?!! Nah, that will probably not happen. Texas Tech has some ballers on defensive that no one is talking about. TTU 27-10
Sleep off your hangover
1. Alabama at Kentucky 6:00 pm ESPN2 - BAMA 38-10
Boston College at 3. Clemson 2:30 pm ABC/ESPN2 - CLEM 55-14
Akron at 23. Northern Illinois 4:00 pm ESPN3 - NIU 59-21
