TFR Week 6: It's Time To Get Risky

Here at SnoTap, we will be helping you weekly throughout the football season. We will recap what happens each week on Tuesday, and also give you some advice on how to use these happenings to win your league. If you have any questions, put them in the comments below, or email snotap12@gmail.com, and we will answer them in a future post. Bryan Reynolds filled in for Adam Hatlak this week.

At this point of the season, you may find yourself in last placing look up at the leaders or in first place but only by the smallest of margins. With bye weeks to talented players and others dropping like flies due to injury, it might be time to take a risk that will have you on the edge of your seat all weekend long. I am stepping in this week to point out some players owned in barely any leagues that you could scoop up to booster that needy roster.

Quarterback
Mike Glennon - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Owned in 1.3% of leagues) - It is hard to imagine that anyone on this Buccaneers team could help out fantasy wise but a young quarterback on a team that is constantly behind is something to look for. Glennon has a big arm and the talent around him to produce big results. Last week, Glennon produced 18 fantasy points, while lacking his number two wide receiver in Mike Williams. He was able to toss two TDs to Vincent Jackson, which is a great sign of things to come. Glennon gets to square off against the weak Atlanta defense this weekend; hopefully he can show his potential and help you out in a pinch.

Running Back
Chris Ogbonnaya - Cleveland Browns  (Owned in 1.0% of leagues) - Ogbonnaya is a unique talent, comparable to a Wisconsin fan favorite, John Kuhn. He is a fullback that is used in the run game, both blocking and as a ball carrier. Ogbonnaya also succeeds in catching balls in the flat. He has touchdowns in two of the last three games. All it would take for him to get the starting nod is an injury to Willis McGahee and that is is not hard to imagine. Chris goes up against a Green Bay Packers defense this week that will be once again without Clay Matthews and now lacking the help of Nick Perry.

Wide Receiver
Harry Douglas - Atlanta Falcons (Owned in 7.6% of leagues) - The fact Douglas is not owned in more leagues just blew my mind. Douglas is listed as healthy, which is a rare site from the Falcons receiving core this days. He will be inserted into the starting lineup to take the place of Julio Jones, who is done for the season. Roddy White will more than likely be limited for the next few weeks with an ongoing hamstring injury so Douglas will need to step into the lead spot. He will go against Tampa Bay this week and the force that is Darrelle Revis but that matchup has been decent so far this year. Revis has giving up touchdowns to Vincent Jackson, Larry Fitzgerald, and Desean Jackson in recent weeks. Look for Douglas to join that list soon.

Tight End
Jordan Reed - Washington Redskins (Owned in 4% of leagues) - Reed is yet to surpass seven fantasy points yet this season but he is starting to emerge in the Washington offense. He has become of favorite of Robert Griffin III which could be promising moving forward. Washington is terrible this year, but that can actually translate to fantasy success. The Redskins will be playing from behind, at least I would guess, and owning an athlete tight end like Reed is huge these days. I like Reed as a dependable sub for Jimmy Graham, who is on his bye this coming week.

Defense/Special Teams
Miami Dolphins D/ST (Owned in 14% of leagues) - I have thought Miami's D was a good play all year but I have been proved wrong a few weeks. They are by no means a Kansas City or Seattle that you would start every week but I like them this week at home against Buffalo. Miami has been waiting for all their free agent pickups to come through and this could be their time to shine. If they can get an early lead, forcing Buffalo to throw, they could get the turnovers to get you those points.

Kicker
Caleb Sturgis - Miami Dolphins - (Owned in 9.6% of leagues) - Chances are I am talking to a small crowd here, but though it could be helpful to mention a streamable, and widely available kicker. Sturgis has only missed one field goal attempt this year and should get plenty of time on the field come Sunday. He has scored double digits points in both home games in south beach and will be part of a high score come Sunday. I like him to tee off against the Bills and get some easy points for your team.
