New York Jets (5-4) at Buffalo (3-7) (-1) 12:00 pm CBS - This is a big game for E.J. Manuel. He struggles again given Buffalo's rabid fanbase, they will blame him for the team's recent struggles. It will not be easy against New York's tough defense. They have been reborn under Rex Ryan, and they get Ed Reed on the squad. I doubt Reed plays much this week. I will take the Jets to finally win two straight. It has to happen at some point, right? NYJ 20-17
Baltimore (4-5) at Chicago (5-4) (-3) 12:00 pm CBS - Both teams need a win badly. Chicago needs a win to stay one game behind Detroit and keep pace with Green Bay. Baltimore wins they get thrown right back in the AFC North race even with a Cincinnati win. Chicago seems too vulnerable on defense to like them this week. Charles Tillman, Lance Briggs, no defensive tackles means to me at least we will get one of the few 'Holy shit this is why Joe Flacco gets paid' games. BALT 30-20
Cleveland (4-5) at Cincinnati (5-4) (-6) 12:00 pm CBS - I have to imagined this is as good as Browns fans have felt in a long time at this point of the season. Their team heads to face their rivals for a game where Cleveland could be on top of the AFC North if they win the game. Cincinnati is treading water quickly with Leon Hall and Geno Atkins both being out of with injuries; the defense does not look the same. On offense, they are still making plays, but not as many as they should be. Cleveland looks much better with a revived Jason Campbell and their defense has been stout. I feel like the Browns roller coaster dream/nightmare season continues with a last-second win. CLEV 17-16
Washington (3-6) at Philadelphia (5-5) (-4.5) 12:00 pm FOX - This could be Washington's knockout punch if Philadelphia were to win this football game. The Eagles look brand new finally grasping Chip Kelly's system on offense, and their defense is getting better even if Cary Williams should really think about changing his last name to 'Burnt Toast'. I think you have to expect a lot of scoring this one. Both defense have not shown enough to the point where you can trust them. Philadelphia has 10 straight losses at home. I feel this has to end at some point, and the time is now. PHI 34-28
Detroit (6-3) (-3) at Pittsburgh (3-6) 12:00 pm FOX - Am I crazy for liking Pittsburgh here? I see some betting sites, not the one we use, like Pittsburgh too making them a point favorite. They are dealing with all sorts of media strife with Ben Roethlisberger whether he will be traded or not. I feel like Big Ben is not the guy you want pissed off. He wants to prove to everyone including maybe his own management that is he is the man of this city. Detroit is not known for winning big road games. Pittsburgh is a shell of themselves, but this is a hard place to win a football game as the Lions have not won in the Steel City since 1955. Lot has changed, but I am betting on Pittsburgh this week yet I become a believer in Detroit if they win this one. PITT 23-21
Atlanta (2-7) (-1) at Tampa Bay (1-8) 12:00 pm FOX - This is a game where I ask myself how much money would it take to watch only this game with no fantasy updates, no ability to change the channel, no computer, nothing. Just beer and food. I would probably say well over 100 dollars. Call me crazy, but I think Tampa Bay is the better football team. They have not really been dominated much lately, been in every game, leading late, I like the Bucs at home. TB 27-21
Arizona (5-4) (-8) at Jacksonville (1-8) 12:00 pm FOX - I always get nervous taking west cost road teams traveling east. I have heard from people who knows these sort of things that it is harder to adjust your body clock versus the other way around. Arizona needs to come out strong and run the football. Andre Ellington needs to be focus as Jacksonville is much weaker against the run than they are the pass. I feel like the Cardinals win, but the Jags keep it close until the end. ARI 28-24
Oakland (3-6) at Houston (2-7) (-8) 12:00 pm CBS - Eight feels like an awfully high number for a team whose lost seven straight games but then you realize there is a possibility Matt McGloin see some playing time. Terrelle Pryor at 85 percent makes this Oakland team rather obsolete thus I think the Texans break through for their third win of the season. HOU 31-21
San Diego (4-5) (-3) at Miami (4-5) 3:05 pm CBS - This is a Mortal Kombat game. Everything about Miami says FINISH THEMMMMMM. They looked lethargic last week and now play a good Chargers team on a short week... Yikes. San Diego could put a serious dent in their season as well as get a much-needed victory to stay alive in the AFC playoff hunt. I have San Diego not missing out on an opportunity. SD 35-17
San Francisco (6-3) at New Orleans (7-2) (-3.5) 3:25 pm FOX - First before I start, I want to say what a BatKid as a part of Make-A-Wish. So cool. As for the game itself, I love me some New Orleans. I would lock this one and throw away the key. San Francisco has not beat anyone besides Green Bay this season. Colin Kaepernick will be under duress all game long with Rob Ryan's defense. Saints roll again looking like the top seed in the NFC if they played all games at home. NO 34-23
cool gesture by the City of San Francisco making the city Gotham City for
Green Bay (5-4) at New York Giants (3-6) 3:25 pm FOX - Already said what I needed to say about this one which you can read here.
Minnesota (2-7) at Seattle (9-1) (-12.5) 3:25 pm FOX - Ah the Percy Harvin game and Percy will be back for his first game with Seattle. My guess is he will have a big game leading to all these wild assumptions about how good Seattle is. Wanna bet? SEA 42-10
Kansas City (9-0) at Denver (8-1) (-7.5) 7:30 pm NBC - In one corner, we have Peyton Manning. He is banged up but he does not usually lose in primetime unless it is against his former team. Manning has been great all year, but faces his toughest defense to date. In the other corner, we have Andy Reid. A coach who is 13-1 off bye week and has this whole team believing they could be Super Bowl contenders. I think this is a great football game with not a ton of scoring. I will take Manning in this one because I am still a little weary on Kansas City's offense. I think Manning will tear apart the pressure from Kansas City running short routes to Wes Welker all game long. I realize Denver's defense is not that good, but Kansas City needs to show me more to believe in this squad. DEN 21-20
New England (7-2) at Carolina (6-3) (-1) 7:30 pm ESPN - I honestly had so much trouble with this one. Both teams do not really know each other. The last time we got excited about Carolina in a primetime game they were boatraced by New York on a Thursday night in September. I doubt this happens as their fanbase will be in full force for the biggest game in quite some time. New England looked great against Pittsburgh and the second half against Miami, but are we sure this is the new version of this year's Patriots? I am going with Carolina's tough defense being the difference. CAR 16-14
Charlie.
