Tap's Turkey Day Picks

NFL
Green Bay (5-5-1) at Detroit (6-5) (-6) 11:30 am FOX - If you missed it, the preview from this game went on the site earlier today.

Oakland (4-7) at Dallas (6-5) (-10) 3:30 pm CBS - Some might see this as a boring game and it might be honestly yet I feel like these teams work well together. Oakland is coming off a tough home loss to Tennessee where they gave up a fourth quarter comeback to Ryan Fitzpatrick. I feel like Oakland is three or four breaks away from six wins. Dallas needs to keep their focus after being their division rival which featured more theatrics than expected.  Many people have been critical of Dallas not running the football, but this is a game where they can go pass happy. Oakland is one of the worst in the league and Tony Romo could have a big day against Oakland's secondary which currently ranks 25th. I think Dallas gets a cheap touchdown late for the cover. DAL 31-17

Pittsburgh (5-6) at Baltimore (5-6) (-3) 7:30 pm NBC - One of the biggest football rivalries in the last five years. This rivalry was always known for the big hits and given today's culture, people would like to forget that's how we thought about this rivalry.  Pittsburgh comes in hot. They have won the last three games, and it appears like this team has turned the corner a bit. The jury is still out on Baltimore. They won at home against New York last week and hold a 4-1 record at home this season. Although Ravens wins are not really that stellar beating Cleveland, New York, Houston Miami and Cincinnati, their best win. I like Pittsburgh to find a way to win this one and complete the sweep for the first time since 2008. PITT 20-16

College Football
Texas Tech at Texas 6:30 pm FOX Sports 1 - This game had a great deal of hype about a month ago. Since then, Texas Tech has careened off a cliff in the last couple weeks reverting to the old Red Raiders teams giving up a lot of points on defense. Texas suffered a blowout at home against Oklahoma State, and both teams do not have a chance at the Big 12 Championship.  I feel like Texas Tech is due for a win. I realize that's a cliche way to pick a team, but I feel like Davis Webb leads the charge in a close victory. TTU 38-34

Ole Miss at Mississippi State 6:30 pm ESPN - Ah the Egg Bowl. I do not know if Dan Mullen is on the hot seat, but he might need a win at home against their hated rival. Bulldogs also need this win to become bowl eligible. Ole Miss would like nothing more than put the nail in Mullen's coffin plus they would make Mississippi State miss out on a bowl game for the first time since 2009. I think Bo Wallace and the high-powered offense will bounce back after their tough loss to Missouri and get their first win in Stark Vegas since 2003. OLE MISS 27-14

Charlie.
