Roundball Wrap-up: Wednesday November 6th

(H/T @bochurney)
Your favorite inconsistent NBA post is back from last year!  I never really had a full grasp on how to do this blog, but I think I have figured it out. There will be similar elements from Bucks Buzz, but in reality, it will be its own post on Wednesday. I do not really have a time for when it will be up but there will be all sorts of random shit I happen to come across on the Internet plus some thoughts about the week that was.

Players of the Week
Paul George - What a start to the season for Paul George as he picked up right where he left off in the 2012 NBA Playoffs. George is off to a blazing start averaging 27 points, eight rebounds and four assists a game thus far in the NBA season. Pacers are out to a 4-0 start and George is a big reason why Indiana has been successful thus far. Everyone is like 'HE IS MAKING THE LEAP!!!!!!!!'  And I think that might be true yet let's just slow down a bit.

Chris Paul - Big week for CP3.  He is off to a blazing start as well with 26.5 points per game and 13.3 assists a game. He also averages about nearly four rebounds a game.  Paul tied a season-low last night with 23 points, but he had 17 assists, a season-high. First time CP3 had 17 or more assists since 2011 in a game against Golden State when he played for New Orleans. Paul looks really strong to start off the year and clearly has responded well to Doc Rivers system.

'I am not mad, I am disappointed' Player of the Week
Derrick Rose - In a lot of ways, Rose's first couple of weeks should be assessed without much criticism. I think everyone including me thought he would be himself right away but you remember that it takes some time to get familiar again with the league when a player like Rose has missed a year. Not the greatest of starts, but let's remember he did this to New York.

Team of the Week
Philadelphia 76ers - I have to give up for Philadelphia. Everyone including me thought they were headed for one of the worst years in NBA history and while they still could, they at least start the year off with a bang by winning three of their first five games with wins against Miami and Chicago. Michael Carter-Williams looks much better than any of  us expected and really think about this team when they pair him with Nerlens Noel. The future is bright.

Team of the Weak
Denver Nuggets - GET IT GUYS, WEAK MEANS THEY PLAYED POORLY THIS WEEK. There are a couple teams that do not have wins yet this season but I am going with Denver. Why Denver? They dropped their first two games at home this year to Portland and San Antonio and suddenly the allure of Pepsi Center is starting to fade a bit.  It also appears their concept of offense is out the window with only 93.3 points a game which is 24th in the NBA.

SnoTap Medical Injury Report
Tyson Chandler - Last night in New York's loss to Charlotte, Tyson Chandler suffered a small fracture in his right fibula and will miss four to six weeks. Everyone is hitting the major panic button as he is vital to the Knicks inside. I do have no idea who protects the middle and if you say Cole Aldrich, I might have to deck you.  Related, if you have not seen Chandler's bird legs, it is amazing he is an NBA athlete. I would never say this to Tyson.

This Week in GIFs
First, I will address the GIF on the top of the page. Pierre The Pelican is a terrifying mascot. I like mascots but this beast is an absolute nightmare.

Golden State and Philadelphia featured two gems. One of them was Andre Iguodala somehow making a turnover into an assist and the other is Stephen Curry throwing a 70 foot alley-oop to Iggy. (H/T SB Nation GIF)

Chris Paul not only got player of the week but he also made Jeremy Lin look very silly.  Lin guarding Paul is like me trying to ice skate.

Weird Video of the Week

Atlanta Hawks decided to make a code of conduct video using 'Blurred Lines' and it is pretty weird. Why have we not retired 'Blurred Lines' as a song?  It is over, folks. (H/T Barstool Sports)
